NAME
mopd - Maintenance Operation Protocal boot daemon
SYNOPSIS
mopd [-d ...]
DESCRIPTION
Mopd
is a server which supports the MOP boot protocol, used by DEC machines.
The server responds to "Request Program" messages and provides the
requested boot program. A single -d debug flag gives some debugging
information; two flags give more information.
Note: the MOP protocol doesn't have any user feedback.
There is no user-visible response until 10 seconds when the loaded kernel
starts. If there is an error, nothing continues to happen after 10 seconds.
Sometimes mopd runs into synchronization problems. In this case, the
mop request should succeed if it is retried.
AUTHOR
Mopd on sprite was written by Ken Shirriff (shirriff@sprite), and the mopd
server is currently being run on lust.
